A new year, different score, but same result. Final score: UM 7 – OSU 42. The Buckeyes seem to have reached the domination number over the Wolverines this time ’round. It’s now five in a row against our very old rivals UM. You know, that school up north. This is the first time in history either team has won that many in a row over the other in this, the oldest of rivalries. The picture above is one of Beenie Wells’ long runs against the Michigan defense today.
One last little tid bit. At the end of the game today the television camera focused on the OSU Marching Band playing in front of the players before heading to the locker room and someone had unfurled a rather large banner that read: “Rich Rodriguez, Welcome to the Big Ten”. I loved it. If I find a picture of it I will post it here.
Again that final score: UM 7 – OSU 42

Michigan is being punished because of Rich Rodriguez. How else could they lose to Michigan State, Notre Dame, and OSU in the same year? (To say nothing of Toledo.) “[F]or whatever one sows, that will he also reap.”

I have to agree with Mike. The man broke a contract with West Virginia costing Michigan over one million dollars. What other explanation can there be? West Virginia cried for justice and has received it. Most losses in 129 years…first losing record since 1967. I suppose Lloyd Carr looks real good at this point?
On the other hand all props to Ohio State and the great program that Jim Tressel has built – Awesome!

I would tend to agree with you guys. It makes me wonder if Tennessee isn’t doing something similar by forcing out coach Phillip Fulmer after 17 years and nearly a 75% winning percentage. Good coaches are hard to find. Why is it hard for some teams to see that?

It’s the “New and Improved” phenomonon that is spreading the country. After 17 years Fulmer MUST be stale, right?
Penn State seems to be the exception to this new “rule”. They celebrate every time their coach opens his mouth – doubly so when he opens it to confirm another six or seven years left in him!!
I’m just saying…
